In addition to mastering technical studies (scales, tonguing, slurring, etc.), young players must also have etudes and other material with which to put technical ability into practice within a musical context. Many beginning or intermediate trumpet books today contain only limited etudes for musical study or sight-reading. These Short Pieces for Intermediate Trumpet are a good source of additional study to supplement one’s practice routine.
